The Princess Project is a San Francisco based non-profit that outfits girls with a free prom dress. For many a new dress and all the expenses that go with prom are not in the budget. The organization collected over 6,000 dresses and hundreds of accessories. Every one of them free to the close to 1,000 attending the weekend giveaway.
I had the privilege of photographing the first of the giveaways scheduled to happen throughout the month. The girls where full of excitement as they sifted through the racks and racks of dresses with the help of volunteers who were there to serve as personal shoppers. The best part of the day was seeing the smiles on the faces of all the beautiful girls who found a dress they loved and can now happily look forward to a fabulous prom.
The president of The Princess Project is Katie, my bestie, who I have been friends with for over two decades. I'm so incredibly proud of Katie and the work the entire organization is doing for these girls and for our community. I know there have been and will continue to be countless volunteer hours put into this cause as they aim to serve over 2,000 this prom season.
Their motto is simple, "Making Dreams Real - with time, talent & taffeta", and that's exactly what they did over the weekend.

The Princess Project is a really great thing.
