I am a member of the Auxiliary for the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Contra Costa County. A few weeks ago we held our annual "It Shouldn't Hurt to be a Child" benefit luncheon at the beautiful Diablo Country Club. The council strives to prevent child abuse in the county through coordination of services and programs, information sharing, in home visiting and public advocacy. The Council believes that every child has the right to grow up free from the pain and trauma of abuse. As a mother, it is heartbreaking to know that some children are living through such painful situations and know I that this organization is working hard to eliminate child abuse. Since the fall the 12 active board members of the Auxiliary have been planning the event and hoping for its success. It was indeed a fabulous event thanks in part to so many giving people.
The event raised approximately $37,000 with 100% of the money going to CAPC.
Thank you to the guests who attended and generously gave. Thank you to all that donated items for the silent auction. Most importantly thank you to CAPC for all the work and good you are doing in the community! It is a privilege to help serve this amazing organization.
I was busy running around but I managed to snap a few pictures....
